SNOWMOBILING-FAQ
WHY SNOWMOBILE WITH SNOW COUNTRY?-
Enjoy a variety of options from Scenic Tours to Advanced Backcountry Riding with the best
guides and snowmobiles in the industry. Trust a third generation family owned and
operated tourist business and take advantage of snowmobiling at its best!

HOW SHOULD I DRESS? WHAT SHOULD I BRING?-
Snow Country will provide an insulated helmet for all guest. However, snow clothing is
NOT provided and it's participants' responsibility to dress warm. We recommend wearing a
good base layer, snow jacket, snow pants, boots, gloves and goggles.

WHERE DO MEET FOR SNOWMOBILING?-
Snow Country has several different Forest Service permit locations to operate on. All of our
scenic locations are conveniently located within 20-40 minutes of Pagosa Springs. Tour
location will be decided based on snow and trail conditions.  A detailed email with
directions will be sent 3 days prior to your tour. There are no addresses, please follow the
directions we send you. Check out our
TOUR LOCATIONS page to view maps of our
designated trail heads.

IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT?-
Yes, participants combined weight on one snowmobile MUST be 400lbs or less. If your
combined weight exceeds 400lbs we recommend booking single snowmobiles. This is
VERY important for your safety while riding snowmobiles in the mountains.

ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS?
DRIVERS-Drivers MUST be 16 years of age to operate a snowmobile no exceptions. Drivers
are not required to have a valid driver's license, just bring a form of ID for proof of age.

PASSENGERS-There is  NO age limit on passengers. However, we ask that parents be
confident  your young child can handle the WHOLE tour without having to be brought back
early. Typically little ones do really well on our quiet, smokeless snowmobiles.  MAXIMUM
of 2 people per snowmobile, it is not safe to put 3 on a snowmobile no matter how small.

CAN MY CHILD SIT IN FRONT OF ME ON THE SNOWMOBILE?-
Our knowledgeable guides will make this decision once you arrive. Typically we prefer all
children to ride behind a driver and be strong enough to hold on. It is safer for them to be
behind an adult in case an accident were to occur. However, if your child is not strong
enough to hold on behind we may make an exception.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?-
48 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY- If you cancel 2 days or more prior to your scheduled
departure you will be able to reschedule or will be refunded in full. If any cancellation is
made less than 2 days prior to your scheduled tour time, reimbursements will not be given.

MISSING YOUR TOUR TIME- It is very important that you get yourself and your entire group
to the meeting location dressed and ready to go 15 minutes before your tour time. To
ensure excellent customer service, our tours will leave on time. Your trip will be considered
a no show and non-refundable if you are not on time.

WEATHER- Snow Country typically will operate even if it is snowing. As long as we feel it is
safe to take guest out and visibility is acceptable, we will run. Please think ahead. If you do
not have a 4-Wheel or All-Wheel drive vehicle, have a set of tire chains or cables on hand in
preparation of a storm system that may come through. Or, have a shuttle booked ahead of
time to take you to our meeting location safely. In EXTREME snow storm conditions Snow
Country will cancel tours. We will notify guest plenty in advance if we have to cancel your
tour. If rescheduling is not possible, a refund will be given.

ILLNESS OR INJURY- We understand that people get injured or sick at less than ideal
times. However, we do not offer refunds unless proof from a physician or medical facility
stating they no longer are able to participate in the activity is provided. With this, we will
refund the sick or injured person for their tour not the entire group. If the sick or injured
person is a minor, we will also refund one parent.

IS SNOWMOBILING OK FOR FIRST TIMERS?-
Absolutely! In fact about 70% of our guest have NEVER snowmobiled before. Our
knowledgeable guides will give you a thorough safety briefing and you should always feel
free to ask questions. As long as guest are following given directions,  there should be no
problems out on the trail. Our new snowmobiles are extremely user friendly and
comfortable to drive.

IS TIPPING CUSTOMARY?-
Yes, just like a restaurant, around 15%-18% is customary to your guide depending on how
well you liked your tour.
